Family Dynamics

When one member hurts or is struggling, it impacts everyone!  In many situations, I find it helpful to work with dyads, such as a parent and child, or with all members of a family so that each person can express what is going on from his/her perspective.  Too often a group comes in believing they know the “source” of their problems only to discover the issue stems from hidden or unresolved family dynamics that need to be surfaced and understood.  My approach is first to remove blame and “finger-pointing” while creating a safe environment for family members to speak openly and honestly. The ultimate goal is a positive outcome and healing for all.
